Please contact my foster parent by email for information about adopting me.

Hello my name is Lyla. I love to play fetch, lay in the sunshine, roll in the grass, and get belly rubs. I am very affectionate with my foster humans, and am completely house-trained and very well behaved indoors. I do not get into anything and I do not scratch or tear things up. I love sitting quietly on my pillow-bed indoors and also love spending time outside. I would do best as an only pet.

I was found wandering in the Oxnard area a few months ago. I didn’t do well at the shelter because other dogs sometimes trigger my past trauma, and I can’t help myself from becoming barky toward them. Sometimes unfamiliar humans spook me too, if they move quickly or approach me from behind. I so want to heal from these behaviours and am working very hard to relax and trust people and other dogs, it’s just very hard after what I’ve been through. I have only ever wanted a forever-home with humans who I can trust and love. If you are also working on healing yourself, would you please let me heal with you? We can enjoy fun walks and pets while we grow stronger and learn to trust each other. As your love allows me to forget my trauma and release my fears, my love for you can do the same.
Thank you, Lyla
